Following customer feedback, the Local Impact Fund was introduced to support longer-term projects, with up to £5,000 available. The aim is to help initiatives grow in scale and sustainability to deliver meaningful and lasting change.
The Local Impact Fund will be open on Friday 3rd October 2025.

Eligibility Criteria:
- You must not have received funding from the community fund in the last 12 months.
- You must be a Community Interest Company (CIC), Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), Company Limited by guarantee which operates as a not-for-profit organisation, or registered Charity registered with the charity commission which have an incorporated legal form* within Stockport Metropolitan Borough with an annual turnover of less than £150,000 in the previous financial year.
- Your organisation must have a set of annual accounts. You will need to send a copy to [email protected]
- Your organisation must have a bank account in the name of the organisation. You will need to send proof of the bank account (e.g. a recent bank statement or letter).
- Your project plan must explain how Stockport Homes and SKylight customers, neighbourhoods and communities will benefit from the project, why the project is needed and what difference it will make to communities.
- Your project must be well planned with clear output, outcome and impact measures.
- The project must be based entirely in Stockport and benefit Stockport Homes and SKylight customers or communities.
- Your project should demonstrate a clear benefit to at least one of following priority areas: Advancing Digital Inclusion, Empowering Young People, Enriching Lifelong Potential, Fostering Community Spirit, Improving Health & Wellbeing, or Promoting Active Ageing.
- The project should be completed within 12 months of your funding being awarded. You will be required to submit an end of project evaluation within three calendar months of your project completion. Failure to provide these will lead to the organisation being ineligible to apply for future SKylight funding.
* Registration with Charity commission is your tax status and shows that your work is legally charitable as defined by the Charities Act 2022.
