Charitable organisation SKylight shortlisted in prestigious awards

SKylight the charitable arm of Stockport Homes Group (SHG) is committed to transforming the lives of its customers and communities. SKylight aims to empower communities by supporting community-based projects. Throughout the cost of living crisis, SKylight’s projects have played a huge part in supporting the residents of Stockport, and now one of its projects ‘Furniture Recycling’ has been shortlisted for ‘Resident Advice & Support Programme’ at the Northern Housing Awards.

The Furniture Recycling Scheme is an essential part of delivering SKylights key aim to help transform lives in our local communities through collecting good quality furniture and gifting it to households in need to enable them to make their house into a home.  Since April 2021, the team have collected items from over 960 homes and have delivered items to over 800 families in need.

SKylight hopes to bring home the award on May 2nd 2023 in Manchester.
